About the Artist

I have always been motivated and captivated by the play of light on different surfaces and the amazing carpet of color that surrounds us.  My quest to capture these qualities on canvas began in my teens, and I have been striving to do so all of my life.

Art is my passion.  I am always working to capture the beauty of some other place or moment in time.  My wish is that the viewer will find meaning and pleasure in the creation.  I work on location and from photographs I take using oil on canvas.  For those who have a treasured place or photograph, I am pleased to create custom commissioned pieces as well.

I am an associate member of Oil Painters of America, and I have belonged to the East Side Association of Fine Arts.  My works reflect the Northwest where I live and paint, and I have been juried in many local venues including Fresh Paint, Art Port Townsend, Edmonds Art Festival, Parklane Gallery Kirkland and the Eastside Fine Arts Member Shows.

Inspiration to paint is a blessing--the challenge is recreate the sense of beauty and wonder in this world.  I hope you enjoy my work.
